fixed into place forward and forward someday someday moments found, moments lost cross interface colliding, receding echoes decay entropy entropy and it all comes back to we can't know anything fragmented sky oh i'm so afraid fragmented sky nothing stays, nothing stays
2.
in the loneliest, loneliest night have a shot for the times gone by have a hit for the times gone by here's to how time flies i won't forget these people, these places i won't forget who i love and their faces try to carry it all in the back of my mind try to carry it all but time and it all goes by
3.
i've been thinking i haven't stopped thinking will we always be stressed and always be tired when we collide do the sparks make fire that can glow over distance and burn across time against the decay of all things as is cosmic design i'd like to believe only got like 3 more weeks like everything else, gotta wait and see never could take the uncertainty and we all gotta leave i haven't stopped thinking often times i can't stop thinking
4.
as the days are counting down, i'm pretending that i'm on it but i feel so much, it feels like i'm going to vomit looking out from the balcony at the city i'm about to leave wondering who i'll see again and will i be able to sleep things are starting to happen for the last time missing people who are right in front of my eyes i hate the last of things i hate this permanence this frailty this finality and you can never go back we can never go back you can never go back and i can never go back so let's just pretend... when will i see you again

and let your hair grow execute your wily schemes let idealism grow for everything is as it seems for we float on a dumb rock in a far and breathless space that we will never understand and we will never mold a place but don't be afraid you are free to live and every moment yours to take and every second yours to make so let your hair grow

about

ghost was recorded in the final months of my senior year in college, as things were wrapping up and i was grappling with leaving the place i had spent the last 4 years and the people i spent those 4 years with.

i was thinking (probably too much) about relationships, the most wonderful yet immensely fragile part of existence, and how we maintain them in the face of distance, time, and everything else. this fragility is scary, but fleeting connections are what make us us and life the strange but beautiful experience it is. the song ghost addresses these ideas in a way for me, and i hope it does for you, as well. the shorter songs represent a diary of sorts, thoughts quickly written and recorded to capture a time, but also a place. i specifically set out to prioritize space in these recordings, to preserve the places (which are of importance to me personally) i recorded these songs in. let yr hair grow is an older song, but thematically felt like a fitting closer to the tracklist.

this ep is made with eternal thanks to all my wonderful texas friends. i consider myself very blessed to have spent the last 4 years with y'all, thank you for everything !

special thanks to abbey for supplying the floppy disk that became album artwork, as well as for general support, artistic and otherwise!

this ep is dedicated to mark hollis, whose inimitable and affecting music served as a sort of guiding light for the title track.

as always, thank you for listening !
